A NEW CONTEXT FOR CROWDSOURCING

The term "crowdsourcing," coined by Jeff Howe,2, 3 describes a sourcing phenomenon in which companies tap the latent talent of individuals outside their firms' boundaries to accomplish the tasks formerly done strictly inside those boundaries. While the term crowdsourcing may be new, the concept has been around for a long time. Essentially, it involves individuals collectively working on a problem.
