Doug Arent
Doug Arent is Executive Director at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where he focuses on strategic public and private partnerships. He is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and serves on the World Economic Forum’s Future of Electricity working group and the advisory boards for the Post Carbon Transition program at the Institute for New Economic Thinking, Oxford University, UK; the Smart Electric Power Alliance; and Energy Academy Europe. Dr. Arent is a member of the Keystone Energy Board, Editor-in-Chief for Renewable Energy Focus, and Associate Editor for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews. Previously, he served on the American Academy of Arts and Sciences steering committee on Social Science and the Alternative Energy Future and was a member of the National Research Council to advise the US Global Change Research program. Dr. Arent was founding Executive Director of the Joint Institute for Strategic Energy Analysis and has served as Director for NREL’s Strategic Energy Analysis Center and Integrated Applications Center.
