Eugene Mcguire
Dr. Eugene G. McGuire is founder and president of ProcessWorks, Inc., a process improvement consulting, training and appraisal services firm headquartered in Rockville, MD. ProcessWorks, Inc. is a SEI Partner for SCAMPI Appraisal Services and for the Introduction to CMMI Training Course.
Dr. McGuire is a CMMI SCAMPI Lead Appraiser and an authorized instructor for the Introduction to CMMI course. He is also a SCE Lead Evaluator for the SW-CMM and is authorized by the Software Engineering Institute in CMM Based Appraisal V1.1 and in Software Capability Evaluation V3.0.
He has worked with over 75 organizations in all forms of CMM and CMMI consulting, training and appraisals since 1997. He has conducted software process improvement, project management and team training courses for many commercial and government clients throughout the United States and for commercial firms in Scandinavia, Canada, and Mexico.
Dr. McGuire's background includes expertise in the technical and organizational aspects of IS leadership, project management, software development methodologies, software process improvement models (CMM, CMMI, ISO), and emerging technologies. Dr. McGuire was a tenured Associate Professor teaching information systems at American University in Washington, D.C from 1990 to 2003. Prior to joining American University he had 14 years of computer industry experience in software project management.
During the past ten years he has presented papers on software process improvement issues throughout the United States and internationally in Cambridge, Dublin, Barcelona, Grenoble, Singapore, Berlin and Stockholm among other places.
He has edited two books for Idea Group Publishing: Software Process Improvement: Concepts and Applications and Information Systems Innovation and Diffusion: Issues and Directions.
