Franziska Thomas is a Partner at Arthur D. Little (ADL), based in Frankfurt, and leads ADL’s Healthcare & Life Science practice for Central Europe. Dr. Thomas specializes in the life sciences and healthcare sector, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical research and development (R&D) and commercial operations. Her work is centered on innovative technologies, including biologics and new modalities. She is an experienced management consultant and industry expert with over 15 years of experience in the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Dr. Thomas’s expertise includes strategy development for R&D and commercial operations, opportunity assessment, and strategies for entering or scaling new business models, especially in biologics and biosimilars. She also excels in complex program delivery, operational and commercial due diligence, change management, and program management, serving healthcare suppliers such as pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and CMO/CDMOs.

Prior to joining ADL, Dr. Thomas advanced her expertise in innovation within the pharmaceutical and CDMO sectors while at McKinsey and PA Consulting, where she supported global pharmaceutical and biotech clients. She also worked for Boehringer Ingelheim focusing on end-to-end innovation and development of biologics including CMC, R&D, and go-to market-launch strategies, with a specific focus on integrated fast-to-market approaches.
