Haluk Demirkan is a Professor of Digital & Service Innovation and Business Analytics, and the founder and Executive Director of the Center for Information Based Management focused on analytics and innovation at the Milgard School of Business, University of Washington - Tacoma. He has a PhD in information systems and operations management from the University of Florida, and his research in analytics and design-led service science and innovation have included recent industry-sponsored research projects with American Express, Intel, IBM, MicroStrategy, and Teradata. Dr. Demirkan has almost 20 years of professional work experience in process innovations with service-oriented solutions and data, analytics, and business intelligence for Fortune 100 companies. He has more than 150 publications. In 2013, he was ranked 6th in the Top 100 Worldwide Researchers according to the Association for Information Systems' sanctioned worldwide research rankings. Dr. Demirkan is a member of the board of directors for the International Society of Service Innovation Professionals and an advisory board member for the INFORMS Service Science Section.
