Katalin Bartfai Walcott
Katalin K. Bartfai-Walcott leads the fog computing software architecture team at Intel’s Internet of Things (IoT) group. She focuses on integrating service delivery, management, and control between edge, fog, and cloud computing in support of sensor data analytics and insights as well as device health management and transaction-level orchestration. Ms. Bartfai-Walcott also serves as the Patent Advocate for Intel, focusing on IoT- and fog computing–related inventions. Prior to Intel, she worked with IBM as Principal for IBM Global Services, where she led the development of IBM’s Linux strategy. Ms. Bartfai-Walcott has nearly three decades of industry experience with data center architecture, multi-platform systems (including Power/RISC and Linux on Power), cloud computing, and executive-level consulting. She has published over 30 technical papers and several IBM Redbooks. Ms. Bartfai-Walcott has spoken at numerous seminars and conferences, holds 50 patents, and was awarded IBM’s Chairman’s Award for her work on building the Linux services and support strategy.
