Macedonio Alanis
Macedonio Alanis is a Professor in the Department of Management Information Systems at the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, in Monterrey, Mexico. Dr. Alanis has worked as CIO for the government of the state of Nuevo Leon and presided over CIAPEM, the national committee for informatics in states and municipalities in Mexico. He has also participated in the definition of Mexico's national IT policies. In 2002 Dr. Alanis received the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship, which allowed him to travel through the US to conduct research and interview top executives, specialists, and elected officers on the topic of e-government. He was elected to occupy the Americas Chair on the board of the Association for Information Systems and was a Remarque Fellow for the University of New York. Dr. Alanis works as a consultant in IT strategy for public and private institutions, and his e-government seminars are attended, via satellite, by nearly 1,200 students in nine Latin American countries.
