Before joining IBM, Dr. Hughes was the User Experience Design Lead at CheckFree Corporation, where he established its User Experience Research and Design Center. He has a PhD in instructional technology from the University of Georgia and a master's degree in technical and professional communication from Southern Polytechnic State University.
