Dan Sturtevant
Dan Sturtevant is co-founder of Silverthread, which was established in 2013 to commercialize 15 years of Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) research on improving business outcomes for complex software projects. He is also a member of Arthur D. Little's AMP open consulting network. From 2012 through 2015, he researched the empirical foundations of Silverthread’s predictive analytics for design quality and software economics. Dan spent the previous 20 years as a software architect and engineer, manager, and developer at MathWorks, General Dynamics, Veridian, and PSR. His domain experience spans data analytics, computational simulation modeling, cryptography, virtualization, Linux supercomputing, and the fusion of satellite data. Dan has a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering from Lehigh University, a master of science degree in engineering and management from MIT, and a PhD in engineering systems, also from MIT. Dan is keen on improving education in the United States in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Over the past six years, Dan has created system dynamics models to explore important social, economic, and workforce issues.
