The Perceived Dichotomy Between Current Green IT Initiatives and Information Security

As energy costs continue to climb, businesses and other organizations are looking for new ways to reduce power consumption. Given the millions of computers (not to mention other IT artifacts such as printers, routers, and switches) powered on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it is little surprise that scientists and engineers are looking for new ways to build more energy-efficient or "green" IT devices.
