Danny Ertel
Danny Ertel is a founding partner of Vantage Partners and the head of its outsourcing advisory practice. A leading authority on negotiation, relationship management, and conflict management, Mr. Ertel is the coauthor, with Mark Gordon, of The Point of the Deal, recently published by the Harvard Business School Press. He has written for Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, The Economist, Purchasing Today, and Financial Executive, among other publications. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, where he was Managing Editor of the Harvard Law Review.
Mr. Ertel is also Chairman of Janeeva Inc., a company that provides a comprehensive set of software tools to manage outsourcing relationships. Prior to founding Vantage, Mr. Ertel headed up the Latin American Practice at Conflict Management, Inc.; was a senior researcher at the Harvard Negotiation Project; taught negotiation at the University of Toronto Law Faculty; practiced law; and served as a law clerk to the Hon. Justice Harry A. Blackmun on the US Supreme Court. His first book, Beyond Arbitration (coauthored with Ralph Ferrara), was selected by the CPR Legal Program as the winner of its 1992 Book Award. He is also the coauthor, with Roger Fisher, of Getting Ready to Negotiate and editor of Negociación 2000.
