Lee Imrey
Lee Imrey is Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a company that processes healthcare information for leading healthcare and insurance providers. He oversees a program that protects a vast repository of protected health information (PHI) and supports security compliance requirements across a constantly evolving set of US federal and state laws and regulations. The programs he supports are delivered in a highly competitive environment where security controls are constantly aligned with the financial requirements of his company and clients.
Previously, Mr. Imrey was Information Security Architect for the US Department of Justice (DOJ), where he managed policies, processes, and programs to protect sensitive and classified data. He represented the department before various government agencies and NGOs to develop appropriate information security measures across public- and private-sector organizations.
Mr. Imrey has taught information security classes for (ISC)2 worldwide and continues to contribute time to various professional programs. He has served on the Information Technology Security Council for ASIS International, the (ISC)2 Government Advisory Board, and the ISSA International Committee on Professional Ethics, which he chaired during its first two years. He currently serves on the Membership Advisory Committee for I-4 (the International Information Integrity Institute).
Mr. Imrey has held numerous industry certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), GIAC Certified Firewall Analyst (GCFW), and Certified Protection Professional (CPP), and is board-certified in security management by ASIS International.
