Maria Polychronaki is a senior student in the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department of the University of West Attica (UniWA, Greece) and a Junior Researcher for UniWA’s Computer Network and Services Research Team (CoNSeRT). Her research interests include IoT, blockchain, and distributed ledger technologies as well as their applications and implementations. Ms. Polychronaki’s thesis describes the benefits that REST architecture can provide to the communication layers of IoT systems and how it can be implemented using the JAVA programming language.
