Pethuru Raj is a Lead Architect for Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Ltd., Bangalore, with eight years of industry experience in integration technology and middleware. Previously, he was a Senior Consultant in such emerging technologies as SOA and cloud computing at Wipro Technologies. He was also selected as a JSPS Research Fellow and a JST Research Scientist to focus on promising IT technologies at two leading Japanese universities.

Mr. Raj has focused on distributed systems development technologies, including enterprise Java and Microsoft .NET. His current research includes embedded SOA for D2D integration, cloud technology for sensor-to-cloud integration, the Internet of Things for realizing and sustaining smarter environments, RFID, and smart sensor networks. He earned a PhD from Anna University, Chennai, and worked as a University Grants Commission Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Mr. Raj has contributed chapters in BPM, SOA, as well as cloud and ubiquitous computing for books edited by internationally acclaimed professors. Currently, he is writing a comprehensive book on the Internet of Things and its impacts on the human society.
