Shannon Ames is Executive Director of the Low Impact Hydropower Institute (LIHI), a nonprofit working to recognize and support hydropower that prioritizes environmental, recreational, historical, and cultural resource protection. She has extensive experience with hydropower from both the business and policy sides. Ms. Ames has played a key role in passing environmental and energy policies, including renewable portfolio standards and climate change legislation. She has extensive board-level experience, having served as board officer and director for numerous educational, environmental, and industry organizations.
