Michael Marus
Michael Marus is Global Chief Information Officer and Director of IT at Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) International, where he is responsible for leading FSC’s technology innovation and digital transformation initiatives, implementing blockchain for supply chain traceability and compliance, along with geospatial analytics. He is a strong advocate for harnessing technology and data to support FSC’s stakeholders and mission. Mr. Marus’s background spans several disciplines and is rooted in strategic data and information management, mathematical sciences, classical music, IT infrastructure, and geographic information systems. Prior to joining FSC, he held several roles in IT, including Head of ICT Strategy and Services at CGIAR, Assistant VP at Citigroup, and Senior IT Consultant at the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP). Mr. Marus earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in mathematical science and computer science from the University of Arkansas, a master’s degree in music from Curtis Institute of Music, and an executive certificate in strategy and innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management.
