Dilupa Nakandala
Dilupa Nakandala is Associate Professor of Management at Western Sydney University, Australia, where she researches business management challenges, with a focus on supply chain, technology, and innovation management. Her multidisciplinary background covers engineering, IT, and business and project management, coupled with over eight years of industry experience. Dr. Nakandala’s research encompasses risk management, supplier evaluation, and cost-optimized inventory management, leading to the development of decision support models. She is currently researching Industry 4.0 technologies and developing a policy paper to increase adoption of advanced technologies by small and medium-sized enterprises in New South Wales. Dr. Nakandala’s exploration in innovation encompasses the development of innovation capabilities within organizations and product commercialization. She is skilled in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, having conducted numerous empirical research projects, and maintains a broad professional network. She has been published in top-tier journals, has received competitive research grants, and is the coauthor of “UNESCO World Science Report: Towards 2030.” Dr. Nakandala earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical and electronic engineering with first-class honors from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka; an MBA in management of technology from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka; and a PhD in innovation studies from Western Sydney University, Australia.
