Simon Woodworth
Simon Woodworth spent 15 years working in the telecom sector for both Ericsson and Motorola in a wide variety of roles, ranging from GSM network customer care in Southeast Asia to commissioning telephone exchanges in places such as Yemen and Siberia. Currently, he is a Lecturer in business information systems at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, teaching undergraduate courses in Android mobile programming using Java and client/server programming using C#, ASP.NET, REST, and MVC. Dr. Woodworth is also Director of UCC's Health Information Systems Research Centre (HISRC), actively researching the use of mobile platforms for enhancing patient health, both in Ireland and in low-resource environments such as sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, he is also interested in mobile payments and mobile decision support tools for the financial sector.
