Annie Shum is a Senior Consultant with Cutter's Data Insight & Social BI practice. She is winner of the 2004 A.A. Michelson Award and is internationally recognized as an innovator and top-ranking queueing model expert for performance assurance analysis and capacity planning. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium.

Dr. Shum is the former VP of Advanced Technology at Amdocs, where she led and formulated a strategy on innovative cloud services and predictive analytics. Prior to Amdocs, she was Deputy CTO, VP of Technology & Innovation at BEA Systems, focusing on SOA and Web 2.0 strategy, and a member of the Computer Measurement Group (CMG) board of directors. In addition, Dr. Shum was VP of Science & Technology at BGS Systems with R&D responsibilities for its flagship BEST/1 Predict product line, where she was product author of BEST/1 Visualizer, a groundbreaking systems metering and performance assurance product line that provides multiple computing platforms with advanced analytics and interactive visualizations.

For the past few years, she has served as a technical consultant to various venture capital firms, evaluating new startups on Web services, SOA, green IT, virtualization system management, and cloud computing.
