Laura Asiala
Laura E. Asiala is Chief Sustainability Officer at WholeWorks, LLC. She is also Lead Facilitator for the “Leading Sustainability Transformation” professional certificate program offered through GreenBiz; the University of Victoria, Canada; INCAE University Center for Competitiveness & Sustainability; and the Plant Technology Alliance in affiliation with WholeWorks. In this program, experienced professionals learn to transform a traditional business to a sustainable one via a realistic team simulation/whole systems approach. Passionate about the power of business to help solve the world’s most intransigent problems, Ms. Asiala has extensive experience leading efforts to attract greater participation from companies to contribute to global sustainable development through their people and their work. She retired from Dow Corning Corporation (now part of Dow, Inc.) after nearly 30 years. With roles in finance, branding and marketing, organization and leadership development, and corporate communications, Ms. Asiala ultimately served as the company’s Director of Corporate Communications and Corporate Citizenship (Corporate Social Responsibility). She subsequently served as VP of Public Affairs for PYXERA Global; Senior Director of the Council of the Great Lakes Region; and Editor of Great Lakes Economic Forum: Online. Ms. Asiala has served on several boards and advisory councils—including Net Impact. She holds a master of science degree in organization development from Case Western Reserve University.
