Matthew Ling is Nature-Based Solutions Lead at GHD and an environmental professional with over 15 years’ experience spanning consultancy, local government, the third sector, and academia, focusing on environment, ecology, conservation, and climate. Dr. Ling is a highly motivated and passionate advocate for conservation, sustainability, nature, and the environment, striving to apply accrued knowledge, experience, and skills to achieve positive impact and change the “business as usual” approach. Prior to GHD, he led a three-year green infrastructure climate investment pilot project, supporting a UK local authority in enhancing city-wide climate resilience and advancing its net zero carbon emissions target. Dr. Ling has authored numerous reports on natural capital, ecosystem services, ecosystem assessment, biodiversity, and green infrastructure.
