Thomas Wenning
Thomas Wenning is Program Manager for industrial energy efficiency at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), where he manages both domestic and international industrial energy-efficiency technology assistance and deployment activities. Mr. Wenning supports the US Department of Energy (DOE) Better Buildings, Better Plants program and the Federal Energy Management Program by providing technical assistance, energy assessments, training, and energy management guidance to industrial sites. Mr. Wenning also spearheads the DOE’s initiative to modernize its energy system software tool suite and corresponding training resources. He has led various international industrial energy-efficiency workshops, training sessions, and assessments on behalf of the DOE. Mr. Wenning earned a master of science degree in mechanical engineering, energy efficiency, and sustainability, and a bachelor of science degree in mechanical and electrical engineering, both from the University of Dayton.
