It is not surprising that in our current global economic downturn, overall global IT spending is decreasing. Analysts are ratcheting down their forecasts for 2009 IT spending from a 6.1% growth rate predicted last year1 to an actual decline of 3% in worldwide IT spending.2 Yet what is bad news for most sectors is good news for another.
