Karl Wiig
Karl Wiig is a retired Senior Consultant with Cutter Consortium's Data Insight & Business Intelligence practice. He is Chairman of Knowledge Research Institute, Inc., where he assists companies in implementing and planning new approaches to operate their business with a focus on expertise and professional knowledge, often with the use of advanced technology. Mr. Wiig is also an adjunct professor of knowledge management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and teaches at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He works extensively with organizations in building internal knowledge management capabilities by focusing on business-related issues with senior management, tactical approaches and solutions with middle management, and hands-on methods and techniques with professional knowledge practitioners. Previously, Mr. Wiig was a management consulting partner with Coopers & Lybrand. He was with Arthur D. Little, Inc., for 17 years, where he started and led the Policy and Systems Analysis group and later created and directed the Applied Artificial Intelligence Center. He has an international reputation for his work in knowledge management, applied artificial intelligence, operations management, and planning.
